If you tell your guardian you are in crisis

Your guardian is an AI for strength and everyday habits. It is not medical or mental health care, it is not an emergency service, and nobody reads your conversations as they happen.

When a message appears to express thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or danger from another person, your guardian stops what it was doing and replies with a fixed message written by a person: call 911 if you are in danger, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and tell someone you trust.

When a message is unclear, it replies with a fixed message asking you to talk with your doctor or a licensed mental health professional, with the same crisis lines.

It does not ask you questions about how you are, it does not judge how serious things are, and it does not diagnose anything.

This is a best effort by software. It will sometimes miss a message, and it will sometimes respond to one that did not need it. If you need help, do not wait for the app: call 911 or 988.

We count how many times these messages were shown, without recording who saw them, and publish the number here each year.
